Verse: Genesis 50:20 – “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”
Joseph’s journey from being his father’s favourite son to being sold into slavery by his brothers is one of the most remarkable stories of perseverance in the Bible. His story teaches us valuable lessons about how God’s promises will come to pass despite our circumstances. The betrayal Joseph experienced didn’t break him; it shaped him for the greater purpose God had in store for him.
Joseph’s life was filled with ups and downs. After being betrayed by his brothers and falsely accused of a crime, he was imprisoned for years. But through every trial, Joseph held on to the promises of God. Even when things seemed impossible, he remained faithful to God and trusted in His timing. God had a plan for Joseph, and even though it looked like he was forgotten, God was preparing him for greatness.
Joseph’s rise to power in Egypt was not just for his benefit but for the fulfillment of God’s greater plan. Through Joseph, God saved the lives of many people, including his own family. What others intended for harm, God turned into good. This reminds us that no matter the struggles we face, God is always working behind the scenes, preparing us for the purpose He has ordained.
Joseph’s story encourages us to never give up, even when God’s promises seem delayed. His story is a testament that God’s promises are always fulfilled at the appointed time, and His plans are greater than our understanding. When God gives us a dream or promise, it might take time to see its fulfilment, but He is faithful to complete the good work He started.
Prayer
