Verse: Isaiah 60:1 – “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”
Isaiah 60:1 is a call to action for the Church. In the midst of dark times, God calls us to rise and shine. His light shines through us, and His glory rests upon us. This verse reminds us that no matter how dark the world becomes, the light of God within us will never be extinguished.
The darkness of the world may be growing, but this is precisely when the light of God is most needed. We are called to reflect His glory, even in difficult circumstances. In times of confusion, hopelessness, and despair, the Church is called to rise up and be a beacon of hope, joy, and truth. Just as the stars shine brightest in the darkest skies, so too does God’s glory shine brightest through us when the world needs it most.
When we arise and shine, we are not doing so in our own strength but through the power of the Holy Spirit. God equips us to be His light in the world, and He is with us every step of the way. As believers, we must not be afraid to stand out and declare the goodness of God in the midst of a dark world. His glory is upon us, and it’s time for us to shine brightly for all to see.
Prayer
Lord, help me to rise and shine for Your glory. In times of darkness, may Your light within me be evident to all. Empower me by Your Spirit to reflect Your truth and love to those around me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
